Varroa mites are a serious threat to beekeepers. They are tiny red-brown parasites resembling the ticks you see on livestock. These invasive pests may feed and live on adult bees but their main focus is on developing brood. This is where the varroa mite future generation feed and thrive, causing malformation and weakening of the honey bees. They also transmit numerous viruses within and outside the honey bee colony. It is therefore the responsibility of the beekeeper to protect and treat the bee colony against varroa mite infestation. If no action taken, the mites can wipe out a bee colony within 2 to 3 years. The Taktic Amitraz Varroa Mite Treatment is specially formulated to curtail the effects of the dangerous pests.
