Moving larvae in the hive is such a delicate process, hence the need for a specialized tool for this. These beekeeping larvae grafting needle will come in handy.

This tool is composed of plastic tubes, pusher rods and wire springs. It is the most commonly used transfer tool for queen rearing. The thin, smooth tongue is firm yet flexible. In this way, the larva can be lifted up and removed at the front end of the tongue; placed in the center of the base, after which the lever is gently pressed with the index finger to place the larva into the bottom of the queen cell cup. The pusher rod will automatically return to its original position under the action of the spring.

This item is made of high quality plastic with a spring loaded plunger for sliding eggs off the flexible spatula.

This package comes with 5 pieces.

How to use:

  1. These grafting needles have a spring-loaded plunger used to gently push the larva out of the reed and into the cup, so you can precisely transfer an individual bee larva to a queen cell cup. The reed is what picks up the delicate larvae, and it is bendable and quite flexible.
  2. The egg is transferred by the influence of the grafting needle putting the larvae into the central pedestal, then pushing the index finger gently press the elastic rod insect larvae into wingtip bottom.
  3. When the spring is pushed down, the rod goes back into place automatically.
